Celebrating World Milk Day: Spreading the message of food safety and nutrition for sustainable development

In celebration of World Milk Day and International Children's Day on June 1st, a special event featured various engaging activities for children. Participants enjoyed milk, ice cream, and modern beverages from reputable domestic and international brands while joining interactive games focused on nutrition and environmental protection, including a program to exchange empty paper cartons for green gifts.

Dr. Tran Quang Trung, Chairman of the Vietnam Dairy Association, emphasized that milk is an essential nutritional source supporting children's physical and intellectual development. The program, hosted by the Vietnam Dairy Association in collaboration with VIETFAIR and Tetra Pak Vietnam, highlighted the dairy industry's shift towards green growth, utilizing high-tech farming, renewable energy, and eco-friendly packaging.

"Sustainable development in the dairy industry goes beyond increasing production; it requires building a responsible ecosystem where food safety is the foundation, nutrition is the goal, and consumer health is at the center," Mr. Trung stated.

Mr. Vinod Ahuja, FAO Representative in Vietnam, sent a message encouraging children to maintain their curiosity and self-belief. He emphasized that the dairy sector plays a crucial role in rural livelihoods and Vietnam's sustainable development goals amidst a rapidly transforming agricultural landscape.

During the event, several businesses donated dairy products to the Vietnam Children's Fund. Tetra Pak Vietnam was also recognized for its contributions to environmental protection. The exhibition remains open until May 31st, providing insights into green consumption trends.

Today, consumers are setting higher standards for the quality and traceability of dairy products. This serves as motivation for the industry to continuously "purify" the market, ensuring absolute safety for consumer health.
