Experiencing Imperial Culture and Cuisine at Hue's 'Royal Banquet'

On the evening of April 29, at the Duyet Thi Duong Theater (Hue Imperial Citadel), the 'Royal Banquet' program transported guests back in time, recreating the atmosphere of Nguyen Dynasty banquets through a sophisticated blend of imperial culinary arts and traditional performances.

Taking place within the ancient setting of Duyet Thi Duong Theater, the 'Royal Banquet' is more than just dinner; it is an elaborate cultural experience. Every detail, from the decor and service rituals to the performances, is meticulously curated to reflect the luxury and standards of royal feasts from the past.

The highlight of the program is the imperial menu, where each dish is elevated to a work of art. Names such as 'Peacock Spring Rolls - Phoenix Meat' evoke symbols of nobility and prosperity, while the 'Dragon Boat Royal Shrimp' impresses with its intricate presentation, mirroring the majestic travels of monarchs in a poetic setting.

Furthermore, dishes embodying the elegance of Hue cuisine, such as 'Tinh Tam Lotus Fragrance' and 'Longan-stuffed Lotus Seed Sweet Soup,' emphasize the philosophy of imperial cuisine—prioritizing purity, harmony, and emotional depth. The menu is flexibly adjusted by season to ensure a fresh experience for visitors.

The dining space is interspersed with unique artistic performances, ranging from Nha Nhac (royal court music) to other traditional forms, creating a rich, immersive experience. This combination has turned the 'Royal Banquet' into a unique cultural tourism product, enriching Hue's nighttime offerings.

According to the organizers, the program will continue on the evening of May 1, 2026, at a price of 1.7 million VND per ticket, limited to 130 guests per night to ensure high-quality service and an intimate dining atmosphere for each individual.

More than just a banquet, the 'Royal Banquet' opens a door for guests to explore the depth of Nguyen Dynasty culture, leaving them with unforgettable memories of a night that is both sophisticated, elegant, and full of emotion.
